MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily cleaning of tables, windowsills, door, and cabinet handles. Clean with neutral detergent, warm water, and clean cloth.
  • Daily cleaning of highchairs/dining tables. Clean with neutral detergent, warm water, and clean cloth and dry with disposable paper towels.
  • Washing of all floors, vacuum daily.
  • Manage laundry, cleaning cloths, dish cloths, towels.
  • Ensure waste bins are emptied and cleaned daily.
  • Ensure mops and cloths cleaned after every use.
  • All toilets must be cleaned daily.
  • Other duties as requested by the creche manager.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Clean staff areas.
  • Other tasks as requested by the creche manager.

 

HOURS OF WORK: 12-18 hours per week. Monday to Friday, from 2.30pm to 6.30pm.

HOURLY RATE: €13.30 per hour.

Seeking candidate for a AIM support practitioner in Roundwood Community Preschool, starting August 2024. This is a term time position – in line with the academic calendar. The preschool runs two ECCE sessional classes, consecutively, 5 days a week. The am class runs from 9am-12am, and the pm class runs from 12.15-15.15pm. The role will cover one session, 15 hours a week.

Roundwood Community Preschool is a not-for-profit, community sessional pre-school, catering for children aged 2 years and 6 months to 5 years and 6 months.  The successful applicant will act as a key worker for one child, while supporting all children and educators in the room. The candidate will support the smooth operation of the pre-school, complying with all policies, procedures and regulations, under the guidance of Management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Based on the Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) providing guidance, support and assistance to a child, acting as key worker, or to the room when, and as, required
  • The candidate will facilitate children’s access and inclusion into daily group activities and play.
  • The role requires the planning, preparation and implementation of activities tailored to a specific child’s needs, promoting holistic development.
  • Support educators to create and maintain a safe, clean, stimulating classroom where all children feel safe and valued.
  • Establishing and building a positive relationship with all children, their families and educators, community members and the Board of Management.
  • Record keeping and relevant administrative tasks.


Person Specifications

  • A minimum QQI Level 5 Childcare/Early Years Qualification is required.
