Enniskerry Montessori & Afterschool Care require an experienced, caring, creative and dynamic Manager & Teacher to take the day-to-day running and responsibilities for the service, curriculum delivery, and 2x staff members.

Our Montessori class is 22 children, and the Afterschool is for 18 children from Junior infants up to 4th class providing the highest standards of care and creating a home from home environment.


  • Minimum QQI Level 7in Early Childhood Studies.
  • At least 3x years’ experience in operating, managing, and teaching in a childcare service.
  • Ability to line manage & supervise a small team, supporting their continuous personal development through appraisal and supervision.
  • Ability to encourage teamwork with good delegation skills & excellent organisational experience.
  • Ownership of all Policies & Procedures, Health & Safety / Risk Assessments as per childcare regulations.
  • Responsible for all inspections & relevant practices for compliance with Tusla, Pobal, DES, DCYA & ECI.
  • Knowledge of Aistear, Síolta and the Early Years (Pre-school services) Regulations is essential.
  • Certificate in FAR (Fist Aid Responder), Children First (Child Protection), Manual handling & Fire Safety.
  • Excellent communication & English written skills with basic knowledge of Irish language (essential).


Working Hours:

  • Average of 40 hours / per week – Monday to Friday – 09:00 to 18:00
  • Position is school term-time based (38 Weeks). Operates from late August to end of June each year.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervision & Management of staff, ensuring all certification is compliant.
  • Delivery of Montessori & Afterschool curriculum planning, teaching and arts & crafts preparation.
  • Awareness of early years regulations, relevant legislation, and facility policies & procedures.
  • Manage and delegate key worker child observations, documentation, processes & procedures.
  • To work in close cooperation with the Owner, Staff, Parents and Guardians.
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of age-appropriate stimulating program of activities which will enhance the child’s natural growth and development.
  • To ensure all quality, security, wellbeing, and safety standards are always maintained in the service (including teaching & play equipment along with Fire & First Aid).
  • Ensure regular daily cleaning of equipment & classroom throughout and between sessions.
  • Manage all relevant child & service information ensuring all data is complete & compliant with regulations.
  • Recording of child and staff records (hours, attendance, holidays).
  • Responsibilities for enquiries, organise viewings, new bookings and maintain waiting lists.
  • Regular communication with parents though our WhatsApp and monthly Newsletter.
  • Facilitate a program to accommodate work experience students from relevant childcare colleges.
