This report presents the findings of a survey of Early Learning and Care and School-Age Childcare settings that operate either wholly or partly through Irish, both inside and outside Gaeltacht areas. It includes findings on characteristics of the settings, as well as service providers’ views on what supports would be most useful to support Irish-medium provision. The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth produced this report to inform the development of a comprehensive plan, to be developed in 2023-2024, to further the progress of Irish language provision and supports in the Early Learning and Care and School-Age Childcare sector.

The report is an important input into the Department’s commitments within the current 5 year action plan that forms part of the 20 Year Strategy for the Irish Language 2010-2030
