Childcare Professionals Day workshops

Creating a strengths based, early year’s environment that embraces neurodiversity, Cheryl Warren – Keynote Speaker

In this session Cheryl will unravel and clarify the terminology relating to neurodiversity. This will then build the foundation to truly understand the sensory needs and the behaviours of neurodivergent children. Cheryl will also explore sensory processing needs, neurodivergent play and how these link to the way in which children experience the world around them and how we can create spaces where they feel safe and connected allowing them to thrive. Practical examples and strategies that you can take away and implement into your setting will be provided.

Getting to grips with Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Sandra O’Neill & Nicola O’Reilly – Guest Speakers

This hands-on workshop is designed to provide you with a crash course in Early Childhood STEM learning. We explore the STEM present in everyday interactions, routines and activities at home and in an EC setting. You will discover how to find the STEM already present in day to day activities indoors and out, and how to enhance STEM learning for babies, toddlers and young children. Join us for some fun!
